Grady Block was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Stilwell, Kansas, on the outskirts of the Kansas City metro. During his time at OU Law, Grady distinguished himself academically, consistently making the Dean's Honor Roll and serving as an Executive Editor of the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Journal, deepening his understanding of natural resources law. Grady also honed his advocacy skills as a member of the National Trial Team Competition, winning OU's Top Trial Team Award.

Following his graduation, Grady embarked on a diverse legal career that prepared him for his current role. He began at McCormick Law Firm in Dallas, Texas, where he managed a substantial personal injury caseload. In 2021, his career took a significant turn when he joined a law firm in Houston, Texas called Walker & Taylor. At Walker & Taylor, Grady gained valuable experience conducting speaking engagements, consultations, and educational sessions on the Second Amendment, firearms, and self-defense. He also engaged in civil litigation and criminal defense, with a particular focus on defending individuals who were forced to use self-defense and providing emergency representation to those involved in self-defense shootings. Additionally, Grady assisted in lobbying for a major gun rights organization, further cementing his commitment to Second Amendment advocacy and gaining insight into the legislative process.

His journey to Mountain States Legal Foundation was serendipitous - he discovered MSLF while researching Vanderstok v. Garland and was immediately intrigued by the Foundation's mission to restore the rights enshrined by the Constitution. In November 2023, Grady joined MSLF as a mid-level attorney, where he is involved in virtually every area of the Foundation's practice. Grady is particularly drawn to cases involving property rights, economic liberty, free speech, equal protection, and the Second Amendment. More than any particular practice area, though, Grady wants to ensure that his fellow Americans can peaceably live their lives free from government interference and overreach.

In his personal life, Grady married his wife, Andi, in 2024. They currently reside in Houston, Texas, where they stay busy with their church and trying to keep up with their Labrador Retriever (Jack), Staffordshire terrier (Nala), and Great Pyrenees (Gus). Grady can often be found at the beach with his family, watching sports, or pursuing his passion for hunting and shooting at his family's ranch in South Texas.
