MSLF’S CENTER TO KEEP & BEAR ARMS RELEASES STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDER PROTECTING SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (February 10, 2025)Since being sworn into office just three short weeks ago, President Trump has repeatedly demonstrated through many of the executive orders he has issued, that defending and promoting the American people’s most fundamental God-given rights is of paramount importance to his new administration.

This commitment was demonstrated again last Friday when President Trump issued a new executive order intended to defend and promote the right of all Americans to keep and bear arms.  Through that Executive Order, President Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi “to examine all orders, regulations, guidance … and other actions of executive departments and agencies … to assess any ongoing infringements of the Second Amendment rights of our citizens and present a proposed plan of action to the President” to remedy those infringements.

“This executive order will potentially have a significant impact on many of Mountain States Legal Foundations active Second Amendment related cases that were filed during the Biden Administration, including the Black v. Garland case which is challenging the ATF’s new Rule redefining what it means “to be engaged in the business of dealing firearms”, and even the Garland v. VanDerStok case dealing with homemade firearms – a case which was argued in front of the United States Supreme Court last October,” said MSLF Center to Keep & Bear Arms Director Michael McCoy. “The Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms should take this chance to let courts know that they will no longer defend the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional actions in court.”
