Letter to Imperial Beach Mayor & City Council Over Moratorium on Firearms Retailers

Just when you thought California’s gun restrictions could not get any worse, it looks like they can. Imperial Beach’s recent issuing of a temporary prohibition (moratorium) on the issuing of business licenses to Firearms Retailers is not only a direct violation of the 2nd amendment but is also leaves law-abiding citizens’ safety at risk in a state where crime is rising. This 45-day moratorium puts firearm retailers in a position where they cannot obtain a business license while also depriving them of their constitutional rights. Ever since the ruling on Bruen the 2nd amendment is recognized to be a first class right and this Imperial Beach moratorium is in direct violation of that.
