LAKEWOOD, Colo. (January 30, 2025) –Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) joins the nation in mourning the lives lost in last night’s tragic aircraft collision over the Potomac River. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected by this devastating event. No words can fully capture the grief felt by those who lost loved ones, and we extend our deepest sympathies during this difficult time.
Flying or directing an aircraft, passenger or otherwise, is one of the most safety-critical jobs in the country—lives depend on the ability of these professionals to make split-second, precise decisions.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic airline crash in the Potomac River yesterday evening, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time,” said William Trachman, MSLF’s General Counsel. “While we mourn this loss, it also serves as a stark reminder of the vital importance of competency and merit in all safety-critical professions. The safety of the American public must always be the foremost priority, and only the most capable individuals should be entrusted with such a critical role.”
MSLF remains committed to ensuring that government agencies put the safety of Americans first. We will continue to fight policies that compromise the safety of critical industries.
